Haverford Township wants you…to serve in municipal government

Job seekers, take note: Haverford Township’s board of commissioners is looking to fill two open positions, plus it is seeking individuals who want to serve on a bevy of different specialized boards, committees and commissions.

On the township’s website, the board of commissioners said it is seeking people to serve in the following positions starting in January 2026: township solicitor and township engineer. The latter is described as a “township manager appointment.” The township wants both individuals, once selected, to start in January 2026.

Haverford’s board of commissioners is also seeking people to serve on the following boards, committees and commissions starting in the new year:

·      Civil Service Commission: one term to end in December 2031 and one alternate to end in December 2030

·      Health Advisory Board: one term to end in December 2030

·      Historical Commission: two terms to end in December 2029

·      Human Relations Commission: two terms to end in December 2028

·      Ice Rink Advisory Board: two terms to end in December 2029

·      Library Board of Trustees: one term to end in December 2027

·      Parks & Recreation Board: two terms to end in December 2030

·      Planning Commission: two terms to end in December 2030

·      Shade Tree Commission: one term to end in December 2026 and two terms to end in December 2028

·      Zoning Hearing Board: one term to end in December 2030

Individuals interested in holding the open positions — including those seeking reappointment — must apply no later than 4 p.m. on Nov. 26. Applications must include the individual’s name, address, phone number and email address; a resume, a cover letter or cover email, and a “concise statement” summarizing why the applicant is seeking the appointment or reappointment.
