PSP seek the public’s help, witnesses in Chester Heights hit-and-run Friday
Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian on Baltimore Pike on Friday.
Police said that around 11:45 p.m. on March 6, state troopers working the midnight shift out of the PSP Media station responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Red Roof Drive in Chester Heights.
At the scene, troopers saw victim Steven Hulsey unconscious in the northbound lanes of Baltimore Pike. Although Rocky Run EMS personnel attempted life-saving care on the scene, Hulsey was pronounced dead after being transported to Riddle Hospital.
The vehicle that struck Hulsey — described by police as a light-colored SUV/crossover — fled northbound on Baltimore Pike before troopers arrived on the scene.
Hulsey was reportedly a 57-year-old Upper Darby resident and devoted father and grandfather. His family is pleading with the driver who hit Hulsey to come forward, and state police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them at 484-840-1000.
