Lower Merion offers School’s Out Program for Jan. 19
A day off from school sounds like a wonderful time, at least for the children. The parents, however, may need a breather of their own. Thankfully, the Lower Merion Township’s Parks and Recreation Department has area parents’ backs with a few School’s Out Program.
The department brings classes and camps on many of the Lower Merion School District’s days off, when school is not in session. This Monday, Jan. 19, as the country celebrates the life and work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day in his honor, many schools are out, including LMSD.
During that day, multiple School’s Out Programs will be held for area students.
Abrakadoodle
This “Creative Dreamers Art Camp” will get the creative juices flowing. This morning session camp is ideal for ages 5 to 12, and will be held at Bryn Mawr Spring House.
Soccer
This R5 Sports class will also be held in the mornings. Slated for those ages 7 to 11, the events will be hosted in the Bala Gymnasium.
Mad Science
Two courses, including “Eureka: Science Fiction” and “Eureka: Shipwrecked” will be both full day or morning sessions for children ages 6 to 12. These sessions are slated for the Bryn Mawr Community Center.
