Masked burglars target Lululemon store in Ardmore

Police are investigating a burglary at the Lululemon store in Ardmore’s Suburban Square, in which masked suspects stole armloads of athleisure clothing.

According to news reports, the burglary occurred around 2 a.m. on Jan. 6. Police say two suspects used a sledgehammer to shatter the Lululemon store’s front door and grabbed coats, vests and shirts from the men’s section, which they loaded into a U-Haul pickup truck.

Lower Merion Police Superintendent Andy Block told news outlets that the suspects also returned to the store multiple times to steal even more merchandise — an unusual move given that most such burglaries are a “smash-and-grab situation.”

The stolen merchandise was reportedly worth about $5,000. The suspects’ truck was last seen on Bryn Mawr and Woodbine avenues.
