Willows hosts wellness talk on pain, chronic illness tomorrow

The historic Willows Mansion in Villanova might be better known as a wedding venue, but a new monthly speaker series aims to also use the space for fostering community connection, wellness and healing.

Hosted in partnership with the nonprofit Root to Branch, the first event in the Willows’ new Wellness Speaker Series was on Feb. 27. But the next is quickly approaching: on March 6 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Tamie Gangloff will lead a talk called “Invisible Struggles, Courageous Strength: Resilience in Chronic Illness and Pain.”

Gangloff is a behavioral health professional who specializes in coaching and counseling people with eating disorders, addiction and chronic illnesses.

The event is free to the public, but advance registration is encouraged. For those who want to “build in time outside and continue to cultivate well-being,” there will be an optional walk on the Willows Park trail following each speaker’s presentation.

“By offering the events in this series at no cost, supported by local sponsors, we hope that the Willows Mansion becomes a place not only for education, but also a hub of belonging, collaboration, and collective growth for the entire community,” Willows Mansion stated in the event listing. Lifeskills Behavioral Health is sponsoring the March 6 event.
