Local kids will go for ‘gold’ in Great Narberth Leprechaun Hunt
While leprechauns are known for being found at the end of a rainbow, at the Great Narberth Leprechaun Hunt they’ll be lurking in more familiar locations.
The free event, now in its 18th year, is organized by the Narberth Business Association and was created to allow children to “wear the green” and celebrate on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day. This year’s event takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. on March 14.
Here’s how it works: First, participating kids and their parents must visit the “Blarney Booth” at the corner of Haverford and Forrest avenues. There they will receive an empty black plastic “pot o’ gold” and a game card with clues to help them hunt down hidden leprechauns in shops and restaurants throughout downtown Narberth.
After every leprechaun discovery, children will receive a “gold” coin to put in their pot. When they’ve found every leprechaun, participants can return to the Narberth Business Association booth to claim their prize.
